Work Hard and Be Your Best

Image
This week was extremely busy and really fast. I'm still trying to figure out this whole zone leader thing and also training a new missionary on top of that has been a fun experience. Still a bit sick as well but I think I'm getting better. Probably the funniest thing that happened this week was when we were finding and I asked this guy where he was from and he proceeded to call me a racist just because I asked what country he's from. The conversation escalated really quickly and finished out by him accusing me to be part of the kkk. So yeah that was pretty funny, but anyways, here's how my week was in a nutshell:   Tuesday (Sept 24): Transfer day! It was a super long day. Since I am training again I had to be there early for the trainers meeting and then we had our usual transfer devotional after that. It was fun and I was able to see lots of missionaries from the past. Then, everyone left except those who were training and we had to wait for all the new missionaries to...

Transfers are CRAZY

What a wild week. I'm just gonna get right into it... Tuesday (Sept 17): Today was alright. We had district council in the morning, the last one of the transfer, and then we all got lunch together. Then after that we traveled to a lesson with Zane. It was a good lesson. Then afterwards we just came home to do all of the studies that we needed to and finished off that part of the day. We did order pizza for dinner so that was really yummy. Wednesday: It was an interesting day to say the least. As we made our plans it looked like it was going to be a super busy day with lots of appointments, so we did our studies in the morning before heading out. Then we went to visit a less active before traveling to a lunch appointment that we got with a family from Ecuador. The reason we were invited over was because he's the guy in Elders Quorum who is assigned to be in charge of the missionary work. Then we were supposed to go travel for me to do a baptismal interview for someone the sister...

Chicken Soup for a Nasty Cough

Image
This week was a bit rough. As I mentioned last week I got a bit sick towards the end of the week and I have just had a nasty cough all week it's made it a bit challenging at times, but hey that's alright, the work moves on!   Tuesday (Sept 10): Today was pretty wild. We had district meeting in the morning, and then exchange with the zone leaders the rest of the day. So I spent the day in Lea Valley with Elder Hatch and pretty much just spent the whole day doing finding on the street. Around 2 I had a baptismal interview to do for the sisters in my district and then after that we spent until about 6pm street contacting. Thankfully we had a DA that night so we went to that and it was pretty yummy so it was a good way to finish the day. Wednesdy: I was able to get back together with Elder Ramsey again after our exchange, and we headed straight to a first lesson that we had with this lady who seemed pretty interested. After that happened we got some lunch and then went to have a...

Lots of Meetings

Image
This month there has been a big thing about data privacy where we basically have to call people whose phone number we have and ask for their permission to have their data saved and so we spent like an hour doing that each day it was pretty crazy. Also it was a busy week with tons of meetings and of course I got sick towards the end of it too. It felt like a pretty dang long week but that's alright there was still some good.   Tuesday (Sept 3): This morning we made our area book calls, then we had studies and ate lunch. Afterward we went to a lesson for Elder Ramsey to teach a Chinese lady in Ilford (a different area). That was good, and then we headed to an appointment that we had with a friend from Germany, had a great lesson with him and extended a baptismal date and he accepted! Unfortunately he lives in a different area so we will have to refer him to those missionaries, but oh well. Then we just went to try and stop by some returning members and came home and made some tacos f...

I Played Settlers of Catan

Me and my boy Elder Ramsey It's September now! What!?! Just one more month until I have spent a year here in England. Time truly does fly when you're having fun.   Tuesday (August 27): This morning we had district council and that was good like usual. We got lunch afterwards and then we were supposed to have like 2 appointments but both of them canceled. So basically we spent like 5 hours straight in the afternoon/evening time just doing street contacting. Then we also did some studies and had dinner but honestly today was just long and we just worked super hard and were diligent with talking to people all day. Wednesday: This morning we were going to have a lesson with a less active member but he asked if he could change it for Thursday so we had to make the switch. Thankfully a member in the ward called us up because she was in Stratford town center and wanted to take us out to lunch so we went to a pretty good noodle place with her. It was good! Then we went to se...
