Work Hard and Be Your Best

This week was extremely busy and really fast. I'm still trying to figure out this whole zone leader thing and also training a new missionary on top of that has been a fun experience. Still a bit sick as well but I think I'm getting better. Probably the funniest thing that happened this week was when we were finding and I asked this guy where he was from and he proceeded to call me a racist just because I asked what country he's from. The conversation escalated really quickly and finished out by him accusing me to be part of the kkk. So yeah that was pretty funny, but anyways, here's how my week was in a nutshell:

Tuesday (Sept 24): Transfer day! It was a super long day. Since I am training again I had to be there early for the trainers meeting and then we had our usual transfer devotional after that. It was fun and I was able to see lots of missionaries from the past. Then, everyone left except those who were training and we had to wait for all the new missionaries to be interviewed before we found out who our new companion was going to be. We basically just watched church videos in the visitors centre for about 3 hours haha it was fun. But I finally got my companion and his name is Elder Hathaway.

He is from Rexburg, Idaho and he's a big basketball fan, so that's pretty sweet. We didn't end up making it home until about 8pm this night but we are ready to get going.

Wednesday: Today we had a lesson with a less active in the morning and then we had to get my companion all set up with a travel card, a phone, and a bunch of other stuff new missionaries need to get. Then we had a lunch appointment/correlation meeting with a member of the Elder Quorum Presidency and wow we had so much food. Then we did some studies and were able to head out and do some good old street contacting at the Stratford Station. It was a good day and went by pretty quickly.

Thursday: So we had our district council today and my new district leader is my own son, Elder Ramsey so that's pretty lit!

We had a good district council and were able to get some lunch afterward. Then we came back home to do some finding, have a comp study, do some more finding, and then we spent the night stopping by less actives before we came home for dinner. We were able to meet 2 pretty cool less actives that hopefully we can work with a little more, so that was fun.

Friday: Started off with yet another meeting, only this time it was a DLC meeting with all the leaders in the zone. We talked about how we felt we did in the last month and plans that we can use in the coming month of October to help improve throughout the zone. That was pretty good, then afterward my companion and I had to travel to my doctor's appointment that was in central London and boy the walk from the station to the doctor's office we got absolutely poured on. We were just absolutely soaked wow. But I was able to get some medication to help with my sickness and hopefully we can see some progress. But by the time that was done and we traveled back we headed to a lesson that we had scheduled and it was such a long lesson, we taught it with the Elders from Whitechapel because the guy lives right near the border of both our areas. And since the lesson was so long it was about dinner time so we just went out to get Nando's with those Elders and honestly it was a great time. Such a great dinner.

Saturday: It was our first day for a while with no lessons and no meetings. So we were able to spend the day just doing a whole lot of finding and stopping by lots of houses. We just used our study to break up the day just a bit but in all honesty we just walked around and did a lot of work today. It was really great and we were both exhausted by the end of the night and I love that feeling!

Sunday: Today the TTAPs came to our area. (Teaching and traveling assistants) they attended church with us and then gave us a bunch of trainings about various different things. And the best part is one of the TTAPs is Elder Hogg, one of my favourite missionaries I've served with. So we honestly just had a really great time. We spent quite a bit of time with them and then I had to spend most of the rest of the evening correlating with the other zone leader about our zone plan for next month, and then also making the calendar for our zone for the whole transfer. So I spent a lot of time on the computer which was super exhausting. But anyways that was all finished and we went home to do weekly planning and finish out our week.

This week I was really satisfied because I have learned there's no better feeling than just knowing you worked super hard and did your best. I felt we gave it our best effort this week and regardless of what results may say, I'm happy with it. No matter what you're doing in life right now, just work hard and be the best you can be, you'll be able to experience joy and satisfaction in what you do. Love y'all and hope you have a fantastic week! It's been a while since I've heard from some of you so if you have a spare minute drop me an email and let me know what's up! Until next week!
