I Fell Asleep in Church

Image
Let's just get straight into it! Tuesday (April 23): We had district meeting today in Hastings. So we drove down there in the morning. It was great I always enjoy district meeting, plus we got some lunch afterward and by the time both of those were done it was about 1:30. And in the time it took us to drive to Maidstone it was 2:30. Did some finding and had comp study then we traveled home and we got Papa John's for dinner since we had a coupon! Wednesday: Today was a pretty boring day. Nothing too big happened. We wanted to try and have a lesson with our most progressing investigator but she wasn't available. And we tried to stop by a few specific less actives that the relief society President asked us to stop by but they were all either not home or didn't want to talk to us. We did have a dinner appointment tonight though and it was lasagne and garlic bread with chocolate cake for dessert. Yum!   Thursday: Pretty decent day, not much to complain about. Although, we di...

Easter Sunday

Image
This week was pretty good. Easter was a lot of fun and we were just livin the life.  Tuesday (April 17): Woah I made it to the end of my first journal today!! Today was a good day filled with basic missionary work and a DA with a completely crazy family😂 but the fact they are so crazy makes it fun so it's good. They made us Mac and Cheese which I haven't had in a while so I enjoyed it. Wednesday: Today was really great. We had zone conference so we woke up and caught a train to Hyde Park in London. It was all about focusing on teaching by the spirit. And for lunch we got Hawaiian Haystacks and we had the free throw contest and President made us do them granny style. Which I made it to the final but then missed after already making 5 shots. The day was really great though and I felt the spirit super strongly. It's great to listen to President Checketts he just has something about him that makes him an amazing speaker and a great leader as well. Thursday: Today when we arr...

6 Months

Another fun week here in Maidstone. This week I reached the 6 month mark of me being on my mission which is completely nuts! The rest of the week wasn't super special but there were definitely some great days.   Tuesday (April 9): Not a bad day. This morning we were traveling to Maidstone and the road we usually take was under construction so we had to find ourselves a little route through some country roads. Also the senior couple from the zone met with us to help find a flat. And tonight institute was in Maidstone and we got invited to join in so we had pizza for dinner and then a bit of institute! Great times. Wednesday: What a super fun day! I hit the 6 month mark today which was super exciting. Also tonight we had a DA and I ate lamb for the first time. Super tasty I have to say. And tonight when we got back into the flat I burned one of my ties to mark the fact that the first quarter of my mission has already past. Wow how time flies!   Burning my tie at 6 months Th...

General Conference

Image
This week was short and it went by super super quick so it was crazy, plus general conference. Wow what a fantastic week! Wednesday (April 3): Today was actually really uneventful to be honest. Not much too exciting to talk about. Although we did have a lesson with Chloe and Shelly and that went well. We also had a DA with a family from Chile. They made nachos and we got to get to know the youth a bit better. They have like 5 kids so it was great.   Thursday: We had service for an older lady in the ward this morning and we did some good gardening for her. It was definitely worth it because she fed us lunch and it was amazing.  Before After Then we got changed and did some finding. Also we had another DA at bishops house and we had our correlation with the ward mission leader. Super efficient day!   Friday: Floral Friday let's goooo! I love Fridays because I decided to make it fun since the beginning of my mission I always wear a floral tie on Fridays. Today was...

I Love Interviews!

Image
Me and Elder Cavalcante were feeling ourselves This week was a super long one because my P day got moved to Tuesday just for this week because we had interviews. Lots of great days this week, nothing too huge to report on though. Although I did truly feel the love of God in each and every day just in the little things. I had a wonderful experience this week while we were out on the street finding people and I just felt a love for the people here in this area. It's hard to explain but I was just overcome with a feeling of care for each and every one of these people. I know that God cares for every single one of us as his children and I'm grateful to be one who shares that love with others.   Tuesday (March 26): Today was a fantastic day, we had our district meeting in Hastings and so we were able to drive there and honestly it was so fantastic to see the area again. Also we had our flat check today and totally killed it. It's not hard when you only spend tim...
