6 Months

Another fun week here in Maidstone. This week I reached the 6 month mark of me being on my mission which is completely nuts! The rest of the week wasn't super special but there were definitely some great days.

Tuesday (April 9): Not a bad day. This morning we were traveling to Maidstone and the road we usually take was under construction so we had to find ourselves a little route through some country roads. Also the senior couple from the zone met with us to help find a flat. And tonight institute was in Maidstone and we got invited to join in so we had pizza for dinner and then a bit of institute! Great times.

Wednesday: What a super fun day! I hit the 6 month mark today which was super exciting. Also tonight we had a DA and I ate lamb for the first time. Super tasty I have to say. And tonight when we got back into the flat I burned one of my ties to mark the fact that the first quarter of my mission has already past. Wow how time flies!

Thursday: Today we had district meeting in the morning. I love district meetings and the senior couple came to that as well and brought treats so it made for a great time. Afterwards we went to Maidstone and had a pretty boring basic day. But we did have correlation with our ward mission leader tonight along with pizza. And we finished with enough time to be able to play some football with the youth.

Friday: Our day was good. We had the chance to watch some of the general conference that we didn't watch last weekend. And we a DA with the family from Argentina. It's always fun with them they are one of my favourite families in this ward!

Saturday: I really enjoyed our day today. Our ward had a baptism for one of the children from a family of members and they asked us if Elder Cavalcante would play the piano and if I would lead the music so we got to take part and it was fantastic! However when she was about to get baptized we all had to leave the room because she was a little nervous and only wanted her family to be in the room when she got baptized 😂 it's alright though it's still cool. And let's not forget the fact they had tons of food afterwards so that was a great joy as well.

Sunday: For us it was fast Sunday along with testimony meeting. Lots of regular members were missing though so it felt a bit empty. The meeting was still a good one. Unfortunately none of our friends we are teaching came to church though so that was kinda sad. We did get invited over to a members house at 3 for lunch/dinner I'm not sure which it was because 3 is a weird time 😂 It was with a family from Russia though and we got to eat dumplings and stuffed peppers. Apparently those are pretty common foods in Russia and I enjoyed it. That's something I love about being here in England, you can seriously find people from all over the world super easily and I love getting to try new things and learn about new cultures. I wish I could say I was learning Russian as well but that is not true. I do know how to say yes and no in Russian though so I'm making progress. 😂

That's all from me this week. Y'all are so awesome. Life is so wonderful I hope everyone is enjoying life right now. If not change something about it! God loves you and wants you to be happy. Until next week!
