Easter Sunday
This week was pretty good. Easter was a lot of fun and we were just livin the life.
Tuesday (April 17): Woah I made it to the end of my first journal today!! Today was a good day filled with basic missionary work and a DA with a completely crazy family😂 but the fact they are so crazy makes it fun so it's good. They made us Mac and Cheese which I haven't had in a while so I enjoyed it.
Wednesday: Today was really great. We had zone conference so we woke up and caught a train to Hyde Park in London. It was all about focusing on teaching by the spirit. And for lunch we got Hawaiian Haystacks and we had the free throw contest and President made us do them granny style. Which I made it to the final but then missed after already making 5 shots. The day was really great though and I felt the spirit super strongly. It's great to listen to President Checketts he just has something about him that makes him an amazing speaker and a great leader as well.
Thursday: Today when we arrived in Maidstone the ward clerk was cleaning the chapel so we chatted with him for a bit and helped him finish what he hadn't done yet. Also when we were buying lunch the cans of Pringles were on sale so we bought 5 cans of them. Then tonight we went to mutual and also had a correlation with our ward mission leader.
Friday: We had a really great time today doing some gardening service for one of the members in the ward. What made it so awesome was the fact that the weather was gorgeous. It was sunny and 20 degrees Celsius outside so I was totally loving life. And tonight when I got home I made some soup and chilled in a blanket. Good times!
Saturday: Pretty boring Saturday. We spent a lot of time doing things to help with preparation for Easter Sunday. Elder Cavalcante had to practice the piano piece that we are going to be singing with the youth tomorrow. As well as setting things up for the munch and mingle. And we spent the rest of the time we had in our day inviting people both on the street and less active members to come to the service tomorrow.
Sunday: This was a phenomenal Easter Sunday. We actually had Sunday school first and then sacrament meeting and I really preferred that to be honest. I wish it could always be like that, anyways, our sacrament service was super great. The primary sang a wonderful musical number and the youth along with me and my companion sang Peace in Christ. The spirit was very strong in this meeting and I just felt so grateful for Jesus Christ and everything he has done for us. Then we had a munch and mingle AND a dinner appointment at 4:30 so I got stuffed today. Plus lots of members gave us things for Easter so it was a fantastic day honestly!
You guys are so awesome and I hope you enjoyed Easter as much as I did! I'm so thankful for my experience as a missionary and everything I have learned. JESUS Christ truly is amazing! Love y'all, until next week!
