2 Apostles in One Week

Image
What a week! Just some spoilers, I got to witness 2 Apostles this week speaking in my chapel on 2 different days. Words can not express how amazing that was. And our week was pretty great too, it's been a highlight week in my mission no doubt!   Tuesday (Oct 22): Today we had our district meeting in the morning, then we headed out to teach a lesson to a pretty cool guy from Ghana. Then we went to the chapel and did some finding outside for around 2 hours before our next appointment. That was pretty good, and when it was over we went to Stratford to do a blitz in their area to help those young missionaries out a little bit, and then we came back to teach yet another lesson! After that our day was through and it was a really solid one.   Wednesday: Boy today was long! Our 3rd companion Elder Hatch actually had surgery in the morning so we had to be in central London to drop him off by 8. So we got up pretty early and began our commute. We dropped him off and he was with the doct...

Emergency Transfer to Lea Valley

Image
So this week was a crazy one. Literally right after P day was over we got a call from President Checketts and we had to move areas in the middle of the transfer because of some things that they had to switch around in the mission. So I spent the whole week in a trio, in a different area, and it's just been super crazy.   Tuesday (Oct 15): Well on Monday night after P day we received a call from President Checketts saying that there needs to be an emergency transfer, and that both my companion and I would be moving to the other area in the district. But not only that, we are now in a trio. So we had to pack everything up last night and then this morning head into Hyde Park to meet up with our other companion. So it's me, Elder Hathaway, and now Elder Hatch who is the other zone leader in our zone. They provided lunch for us and then we headed back to our area. Which is called Lea Valley. We had a lesson with a guy who just wanted to try and prove the Book of Mormon wrong the who...

One Year 🎉

Another week has come and gone in the England London Mission. I reached the 1 year point in my mission so I've made it to the top of the hill. It's been a fun time and I'm looking forward to the rest of the journey that still remains. Our week was full of fun, meetings, and missionary work. Just the usual stuff:   Tuesday (Oct 8): Today was district meeting as usual on Tuesdays. Then we came back to the area and I had to fill out some random form that President wanted all the zone leaders to fill out, and so we needed a computer for that. Then we were able to do some studies and finding, and in the evening time we stopped by returning members homes. There was actually one home that we went to and they actually said they were hoping they could have someone come help them because they needed help putting up a shower curtain (they were an old couple). They were very grateful and we were able to help them out so it was super great.   Wednesday: Well we had MLC today, so I m...

Conference Sunday Let's Goooooo!

Image
The week absolutely flew by. We were so busy with all sorts of different things and it was just really good. Also the weather is cooling off a lot here which is pretty nice now that we made it through the hot summer, I can finally start to wear jackets and jumpers again. Here's my week though:   Tuesday (Oct 1): Well, we had zone conference today and it was pretty dang good.  We were able to receive a lot of great trainings and the main focus of zone conference was about our 7 aspirations as a mission. Also known as the "Magnificent 7"." Things like: Being obedient, teaching with scriptures, doing service, working hard, and stuff like that. It was a great zone conference and we also were able to see an original first edition copy of the Book of Mormon from one of the stake President's in our mission who owns one and came to share that with us. It was pretty neat!   Wednesday: It was such a quick day, in the morning my companion and I attended one of the d...
