One Year 🎉

Another week has come and gone in the England London Mission. I reached the 1 year point in my mission so I've made it to the top of the hill. It's been a fun time and I'm looking forward to the rest of the journey that still remains. Our week was full of fun, meetings, and missionary work. Just the usual stuff:

Tuesday (Oct 8): Today was district meeting as usual on Tuesdays. Then we came back to the area and I had to fill out some random form that President wanted all the zone leaders to fill out, and so we needed a computer for that. Then we were able to do some studies and finding, and in the evening time we stopped by returning members homes. There was actually one home that we went to and they actually said they were hoping they could have someone come help them because they needed help putting up a shower curtain (they were an old couple). They were very grateful and we were able to help them out so it was super great.

Wednesday: Well we had MLC today, so I met up with my zone leader companion and we travelled to Hyde Park for a meeting all day while our 2 companions went on exchange and stayed behind. Honestly there is not much else to talk about from today. Just a big meeting and lots of counseling between the leadership in the mission about some different things for the month. Pretty chill day.

Thursday: Wow today I reached my 1 year out in the mission field! I absolutely can't believe that it's been 12 months here. What made the day even better was the fact I got to go on exchange with Elder Brown, one of my favourite missionaries from way back in the MTC. So we were able to celebrate that day together and not only that, but we also were in his area which covers all of central London. We were able to do missionary work in some of the coolest places! Pictures to come for sure.

We had an amazing lunch and also a dinner appointment in the evening.

Plus we were able to celebrate our 1 year in the evening and have a bit of fun together. Such an amazing day, it was truly a great time!

Friday: Well, Elder Brown and I slept in Stratford and today it was actually his 20th birthday so we celebrated by making pancakes in the morning, and we also finished the exchange and got back together with our regular companions. We then spent most of our day in Lea Valley helping out the Sisters from our district, spending a lot of time there. Afterward, we came back to our area for a lesson we had in the evening with a recent convert who actually just moved into our ward and she is from China. She is really cool! She actually got baptized last December just after Christmas so it's awesome to see how much she was able to learn in less than a year. After that we came home and cooked up some super yummy noodles with chicken and parmesan cheese to eat while we watched the new Book of Mormon video about Lehi's dream. Oh baby that was a good one!

Saturday: Well, yet another meeting today, this time it was a meeting for the district leaders in our zone. Mostly to talk about the things we discussed at MLC earlier that week. Then we had lunch together and Elder Hathaway and I came back for a few hours of finding time. It pretty much rained on us the whole day and we got quite wet but it was so fun. Honestly doing missionary type things in the rain is either just the worst thing ever, or so much fun, just depending on the day and your attitude. Luckily today was a good day and I was feeling happy so we just had a blast being soaking wet.

Also in the evening we walked around in the rain to visit returning members and invite them to church. We are just having a great time here in London 😝

Sunday: Our Sunday was pretty chill to be honest. After church we had a munch and mingle because one of the members had her mission farewell talk today and that was so much fun, lots of really good African food! By the time all was said and done we got home to change out of our suits and then went to visit a member who wanted to give us some food that she bought is during the week. We also had to visit a less active member who asked us to give them a blessing, and then we came home to do a bit of planning for next week and to have some dinner. We were undoubtedly lucky to have some great food to close out our work week!

I'm looking forward to another great week ahead. Thanks everyone for the emails that you send and for the prayers on behalf of the missionaries. We need them and are thankful for them! I hope everyone has a wonderful week as well. Until next time!
