100 Degrees 🥵

Image
Our week reached some insanely hot temperatures and it made for a few really long days. We had highs and lows this week as well but that's just how life is. Especially on the mission:   Just waiting for a bus Tuesday (July 23): Started off the day and the week with district council. It's always a lot of fun. After that we had to stay longer to have a meeting with the other District Leaders in the zone just about our plan as a zone moving into August. It was good but took a while. When we finally travelled back we did some finding before going home to study and eat dinner. Wednesday: In the morning my companion had a doctor's appointment in central London so that took up the whole first half of the day. Although when we travelled home Buckingham palace was on the way in between the doctors and the station we headed to. So we snapped a couple pictures and headed on our way.  Buckingham Palace Then we travelled to a lesson with Zane where we really focused a...

Zone Conference with Brad Wilcox

I swear this was one of the fastest weeks in my mission. The first 2 days were pretty slow but then every day after that was just so quick it was insane.   Tuesday (July 16): Man it was a long day. The whole day was really hot and we spent most of our time outside because like 3 appointments fell through. Spending countless hours in the heat not being able to wear shorts absolutely drains you. Anyways we did have just 1 appointment and thankfully it was lunch with a member so that was really good. We had so much food! Lasagne, salad, bread, Ice Cream. Mmm it was yummy. Wednesday: Another slow day at the beginning. However it finished pretty good. This morning we travelled to go teach a recent convert because he wanted us to visit but then he wasn't even home and didn't answer the phone 🙄 oh well. We had lunch and did some studies until we changed our clothes to go do service and help clean up an older members house a bit. We did it with her ministering brother and we ...

The Miracle of Missing our Bus

Image
So we had a pretty cool miracle happen this week and I figured I would put it at the beginning of the email for those of you who don't actually read the whole thing so that way you won't miss it. On Thursday we just finished up our last appointment of the night and we were about to catch our bus home but we literally missed it by seconds. We were both pretty frustrated because now we had to take a train and then walk a little ways so the journey was longer. However, on the train there were these 2 guys and 1 girl who asked if we were from America. I responded by saying I was but my companion wasn't. Turns out one of them had been having questions about the church recently so we taught all 3 of them a nice lesson while on the journey home. None of them lived in our area but still it was great to see how God needed to place us in the path of these people to help answer their questions. I know that everything happens for a reason and that God's plan is always better than o...

Bring Your Own Serviceware (BYOS)

It was a super long week but we were so blessed with food appointments this week. My whole first transfer we only had 2 dinner appointments and this week we had 4!! I was so grateful and it was really nice. Anyways, here's my week in a nutshell:   Tuesday (July 2): Today was a good day. It started out doing studies and then eating lunch. After that we travelled to our chapel to create our goals and plans for this transfer and then print it out to put it in our flat. Then we had a lesson with our friend Zane from Latvia who is really progressing well. Then we met with a member who took us out to get some food from a Chinese restaurant and it was delicious. Then we did a little bit of street contacting before heading home for the night.   Wednesday: What a busy day! Started right off the bat with our lesson with a returning member. Then we went to a lunch appointment where we ate some delicious Indian food and had fruit with ice cream for dessert. Then we went to the home of...

English Summer

Image
It was a great, hot, fun, humid, and sweaty week. Did I say hot? Wow people always said English summer's are a joke because they don't feel like summer but man when it heats up and you feel the humidity as well It makes for a rough time. I feel for you missionaries out there serving in South America and places like that. The best part of my week besides our good lessons was getting to stop by the outside of the West Ham Stadium where the Yankees and Red Sox played in our area! We didn't go inside and we weren't there for long but long enough to grab some pictures and feel the baseball vibe. Also this week we got transfer calls on Sunday and I will be staying in my area with my same companion! Woo! Anyways let's jump into the week! Suns out guns out☀️ Tuesday (June 25): Today we did all our studies in the morning. Then we ate lunch and headed to a lesson with our friend who's on date for baptism. She is progressing very well and we are excited for her! Then ...
