English Summer

It was a great, hot, fun, humid, and sweaty week. Did I say hot? Wow people always said English summer's are a joke because they don't feel like summer but man when it heats up and you feel the humidity as well It makes for a rough time. I feel for you missionaries out there serving in South America and places like that. The best part of my week besides our good lessons was getting to stop by the outside of the West Ham Stadium where the Yankees and Red Sox played in our area! We didn't go inside and we weren't there for long but long enough to grab some pictures and feel the baseball vibe. Also this week we got transfer calls on Sunday and I will be staying in my area with my same companion! Woo! Anyways let's jump into the week!
Suns out guns out☀️
Tuesday (June 25): Today we did all our studies in the morning. Then we ate lunch and headed to a lesson with our friend who's on date for baptism. She is progressing very well and we are excited for her! Then we spent a bit of time finding on the street before heading to stop by a less active we wanted to see, but she didn't end up being home :/ so we did a little more finding before coming back for dinner.

Wednesday: What a fun day. District Council this morning and I always love having district council. It's super fun and we also get lunch as a district afterwards so good times.
Last district council of the transfer
We travelled home from that to have language and companionship study before heading to an appointment with some less active members. Then we stopped by the house of the member that usually cooks us food once a week so we grabbed the hook ups and then headed home for a nice meal.

Thursday: Our morning was spent on the streets of Stratford talking with people until we came back for some lunch. Then we taught a lesson that went pretty well. After the lesson we had our language study and then went to teach another part member family. I love days where we have good lessons that make the day go by really quickly!

Friday: Today I had my first exchange as a district leader with a new missionary from Spain who didn't really speak much English. It made for an interesting day, but still good none the less. We taught a lesson with both less active members and people we are teaching and have been progressing well! And tonight a member even bought us a bunch of food and took us out to get some sausages. It was a great exchange.

Saturday: Today wasn't too bad, but it was woohoo hot! 90 degrees and 87 percent humidity. I almost died. We actually had a devotional in Hyde Park that was pretty nice. A previous mission President of the England London Mission some years ago came and spoke just to the missionaries serving in London zones. It was about the importance of families which was nice. And after that we travelled back and taught a lesson to a less active member who bought us some drinks and chocolate so it was nice. And tonight there was a Yankees vs Red Sox game in our area, apparently the first regular season game outside the United States (besides Toronto). We stopped by the stadium to grab a quick picture and I felt so at home. It made me want to go to a baseball game so badly!

Sunday: Church was good today. We had 2 people that we were teaching attend again so that was really great for us. Then after that happened we gave a blessing to a member and helped prepare the other ward for a baptism the missionaries were having. We came back home and did some planning, ate lunch, did some studies, went out to the street for a bit, and then came home and ate dinner. It was a pretty good Sunday.

Hope you all had a fantastic week. Love and miss each of you!
