Saw Some Cool Places

Image
The last week of August has come and gone and now here we are about to start September. 😱 That's some pretty crazy stuff! It was another pretty standard and typical week with our usual events, only with a few different things on different days. Last P day we actually ended up going to Oxford! It's a long story and I don't want to type it up but basically we had the spare keys of some missionaries who locked themselves out of their flat and had to take it to them. It was a long road trip but super fun to spend a P day in Oxford! There's definitely some pictures in my picture email.   Oxford Elder Brown We also had our usual Tuesday Tunes and Testimony live stream on our Facebook page "Church of Jesus Christ in Surrey" if y'all are interested to check it out on Facebook. We'll do it again this week haha. On Wednesday we were able to do some more service again for a member in the ward who's renovating her garden and is building a nice path around her...

Yardwork

Another week has come and gone. This one was pretty fun and everyday was pretty decent so honestly it was a good week.   As usual the past few weeks, we did a Livestream on Facebook on Tuesday where we sang a few hymns and shared our testimonies about the hymns, it's always a load of fun and I look forward to those Livestreams. Chillin at the piano The most exciting aspect of the week was that on Thursday we spent a few hours doing some service working in the yard with some members who own a huge chunk of land! We spent like 4-5 hours with them taking off some top soil and doing lots of work with shovels and wheelbarrows because they are wanting to build a little pathway in their yard. Most likely we'll be going back to help next week which is exciting. But we had lots of fun working and also got a little bit of a sunburn which is like pretty much the first time I've been sunburned here in England haha.   Our week was also full of some great meal appointments with members a...

Last Transfer

Here we go, into the final transfer of my mission. Sunday we got our transfer calls in the morning and the great news is that Elder O'Brien and I are both staying here! I'm so happy that I'll be able to spend my last 6 weeks in this area, it's such a lovely place.   The heat from last week carried over into this week, from Monday through Friday it was just like straight death. But we survived it! Luckily we had our car so there were a few times where we went out to chill in the car because it was just too dang hot inside the flat. We had the air conditioning running in the car and it felt much better haha.   Chilling in the car because it has air conditioning. So on Tuesday this week we had a lunch appointment and a dinner appointment, and we also did a Facebook live with some tunes and testimonies just the 2 of us and that was pretty fun. And Wednesday we were able to have district council in person again. It's been really nice actually being able to see some other...

This Heat 🥵

Image
Another week has come and gone and it has been so dang hot! Nearly every day this week was in the 90s Fahrenheit and with the English humidity I just die. But man we make it through, still a couple more days of this heat and then hopefully it will cool down a bit.   The first main highlight from this week was on Tuesday as we had exchanges with the zone leaders again. We also did a little live stream with some music and Testimonies and it was pretty cool. For exercise time I got to play some pingpong with Elder Hathaway and it took me back to the good old days. That was so much fun! We also had to spend a bit more time fixing up the car again like last week, but we are thinking and hoping everything should be ok now 👌🏼 Another positive from this week is that we were able to have district meeting in person for the first time so that was honestly really nice! And on the same day we travelled to a member's house who gave us some fresh haircuts because he is a hairdresser, so we are ...

Blessed Car Life

This week has been a pretty solid week. Nothing too crazy, but just an average decent week of missionary work. We've spent a lot of time just trying to do what we can online but man things have been going pretty rough for us. We kinda hit a dry spell at the moment in terms of finding new people to teach but we just gotta keep pressing onward and I know eventually good things will come from it. But one of the craziest things from this week is the fact that I got my flight plans to come home so that was just insane! 😱 One of the main highlights from the week are the fact that we had exchanges on Tuesday and I was able to spend the day with Elder Hathaway and I just had some nostalgia to the good days haha. We had a fun exchange, we even did a cool Facebook live with music and Testimonies, and then played some basketball afterwards, so honestly a great time!   It's been a HUGE blessing to be able to have a car now because our opportunities for travel have just expanded greatly, b...
