Emergency Transfer

Image
Wow what a crazy week it has been! First of all before I start my week, we have been given permission to use instagram for proselyting purposes so please follow me on there so that my account doesn't look as sketchy with no followers haha. My username is stockton.orchard   Right as soon as P day finished last week we got a call from President Checketts and he told us there was an emergency transfer involving us. So my companion Elder Mepania had to pack up that night and be ready to leave the next morning. My new companion was going to be a missionary who was originally assigned to Chilé but then had to come home and was reassigned to our mission. He was only there for a couple months and most of it was in quarantine so it's kind of like I'm training again. Let me tell ya it's been a wild week but it has been a good one still!   So about the experience on Tuesday swapping companions; the zone leaders picked us up in the morning and we drove to Hyde Park to drop off Elde...

Day 124 of Quarantine

Image
Not much of an update from me this week. It was a pretty average and typical week as a missionary in quarantine. As of today we are now on day 124 of our quarantine so it's pretty fun to just watch that number keep going up 😂   We did have zone conference over a zoom call this week which was pretty decent, besides the fact that a 7-8 hour video call just kills me! It's too long to just be sitting in the same place looking at a screen my goodness. But one cool thing about zone conference is the fact that Brad Wilcox joined us in the afternoon and gave a great training about improving our studies, as well as talking to us a bit more about grace which was pretty great!   Another bonus from this week was that we were able to have 3 DA's with members and we have a couple lined up for next week so things are looking pretty solid. The best part of the week was definitely Friday. Today we had a lunch appointment and a dinner appointment, and at our dinner appointment we played som...

Bikes

What's happening to the time?! I feel like this week all I did was blink and now it's Monday again! On Friday of this week I officially hit my 21 month mark in the mission. Wow!! That is a big number 😮 Honestly there wasn't anything too exciting that we did that week or anything that was new or different. Although, we did receive permission to use bikes and our members came in clutch and provided us with some bikes so now we are able to cover a little bit more distance to travel for DA's and other things which is nice since we still can't use public transport. We went for a bike ride on Sunday and wow that was such a blast! We were able to see some beautiful countryside of the areas around Guildford and wow it was just beautiful!! A couple of our friends are progressing really well, one of them we even had a great lesson with about temples and family history this week and she is excited to prepare for the temple following her baptism so let's gooo. During...

4th of July 🇺🇸

Image
Wow what a solid week! Also it was the last week of the transfer, time is just flying by! Only 2 more transfers left what's happening?! The good news is both my companion and I will be staying here for the next transfer which I'm stoked about, and I'm even more pumped that one of my son's that I trained will be my Zone Leader (Elder Hathaway 😜) I will also be the district leader again so a few cool changes this transfer and I'm very excited!   This vet doesn't know how to spell my name... Some highlights from the week include having 3 DA's with members, celebrating 4th of July with an American family in the ward, and of course extending another baptismal date! We now have 3 friends on date for baptism and honestly we would not have found any of these people were it not for the lockdown, God is sooo good and we have been so blessed during this time frame.   Dinner appointments! Dinner appointments! Now about the 4th of July,...
