Completely Knackered

So yeah we had P day last Thursday so this week was a short one. But here's the 3 work days from my week haha:  Friday (Dec 27): In the morning we traveled to the chapel to do our weekly planning, and after we finished up with that we went to teach a lesson to a cool referral that we received from the Visitors Centre in Hawaii. The lesson was pretty decent, and afterward we spent a few hours doing service for one of the members in the ward that needed help rearranging some furniture and closets. It took up quite a bit of time but we were still able to go and do some street contacting and talked to a lot of cool people, including a drunk 18 year old who said we were the coolest Mormons he had ever seen haha. But after street contacting it was time to get home and we sprinted to make it home on time and we barely made it so that was pretty awesome. Saturday: Today was a really busy day and I feel like we did a little bit of everything, by the end of the day I was just comple...

Christmas 2019

So our P day was changed to Thursday this week so it's been a long 10 days since I last wrote or had P day. But it was a good one and a hectic one but most importantly it was filled with the spirit and great experiences!  Tuesday (Dec 17): Today was transfer day and my new companion is Elder Grimaldi from Brazil. After the transfer devotional and taking care of a few things at the office, we then were able to come back to our area and we had to buy food for the week. Then I had to catch up my companion and talk to him a little bit about the zone and the goals and plans which we have, as well as counseling together on how we want the transfer to be. Then tonight we had a dinner appointment with a really crazy and fun family haha. The kids would just not leave us alone the whole time, always wanting our attention. But the food was good and we had a good time with them and then we came back home for the night. Wednesday: First full day of the transfer and we just went out and...

The Temple and a Freezing Cold Baptism

This week just felt like one of the longest weeks I have had in a long time. With all the anticipation leading up to transfers, Christmas soon, and also knowing I was going to the temple towards the end of the week. It was so long! The weather didn't exactly help either, but we still had some good times and it's great to be a missionary in December!   Tuesday (Dec 10): Today was an absolute grind. We started off by working the Giving Machines in Hyde Park, and it's normally a 2 hour shift but the missionaries who were supposed to take our place were late and we ended up working for 2 and a half hours instead. We also just had some pretty rough weather with lots of wind and rain the whole day too. Other than the morning we just did more finding back in our area, as well as giving a blessing to a sick member from the ward. That's about all from today. Wednesday: Exchanges with the Stratford Elders today! I went with Elder Boyack who's a really new missionary and w...

Giving Machines

Image
This week I spent hardly any time in my actual area because there was just so much going on. It went so quickly but I feel like I was hardly able to improve our area that much. Light the World has been pretty fun though especially the blessing of having a Giving Machine in the mission. It's been awesome!   Tuesday (Dec 3): Today was lots of fun. We went into Hyde Park for the unveiling of the giving machines for Light the World and we had a really cool ceremony with all the missionaries currently serving in a London Zone. We also sang for about 2 hours straight outside to try and attract some extra attention and make it cooler. Then we had hot chocolate and district meeting in Hyde Park. After that we finally got to eat lunch and everyone was starving so you already know we went to 5 Guys. Then tonight Elder Hathaway and I were still feeling the music vibe from this morning so we wheeled out the piano outside the church and one of us played the piano while the other contacted p...

This Gospel is to Strengthen Families

It's getting cold here! The temperature is dropping but the blessings and miracles are raising. I had many wonderful experiences with a few hard ones this week. But the good far outweighs the bad, and there is so much good when we seek for it!   Tuesday (Nov 26): Today just flew by in a snap, which is weird considering the fact that we have had like no appointments. We did study, ate lunch, and then went out finding for about 2 hours at a station, then we headed to the church to do comp study and more finding outside of the church. When we spent a bit of time doing that we were just out walking around visiting returning members, and we came home and made steak fajitas for dinner. They were not too bad if I do say so myself.   Wednesday: Well today was just a grind and a half, we went to district meeting in the morning, then after that we had a blitz in our area so all the companionships in our district helped do finding and visiting returning members for us, it was great! Unfo...
