General Conference
Week 3 of lockdown went pretty quickly. Like the first week im not really going to separate it into days because everything is kinda just all blended together right now. But it was a pretty good week.
Of course the highlight of the week was general conference at the end! Here in England we are 7 hours ahead of Utah's time so the sessions were at 5pm and 9pm. We stayed up to watch both of those sessions from a live stream in our flat both Saturday and Sunday, then we watched the Saturday evening session on Sunday morning because we were asleep for that one! I absolutely loved the focus of conference and especially the new proclamation about the ongoing restoration of the gospel! Let me tell you what, we are so blessed to have living apostles and prophets to direct us here on the Earth today. I truly love President Nelson and all the other leaders in the church. We received some incredible guidance on what our focus should be about, especially during these times. I know that if we heed the counsel we have been given, we will receive all the blessings that God wants to give us!
Other news about this week, our additional exercise time has been great. Pretty much every day this week we had the same routine. We go to a nearby park and play football for about 30 mins. And then, we run! (Yes Elder Grimaldi I ran every day this week 😉). One of the days It was great weather and such a nice day and I was able to get in a solid 5 mile run. It felt amazing when I finished!
Also, the members of this ward are literally angels sent from heaven to look after us during this time. I think this week we received anywhere between 10-15 meals from the members, with more lined up for the coming week.
It's such a blessing to be able to have a car at this time as well so we can still remain isolated but also pick some things up from their homes that they just leave outside on the porch. I'm so happy to be in Basildon at this time, we are so well taken care of.
Lastly, I spent plenty of time studying this week. My main focus has been the Book of Mormon but we have also been reading pretty much everything. This week one of the things I read was the final message of King Benjamin found in Mosiah 1-6. I think out of all sections of scripture that is hands down one of the most prophetic and powerful. We have been given so much wisdom and counsel from the scriptures we have. How blessed are we to be filled with an abundance of God's word to direct our paths and comfort our souls in the very hour that we need it most!
I appreciate everyone who reached out to me this week, it's great to hear from you all. Please please please send me an email this week if you feel like doing an act of service. I would love nothing more than to hear a quick update and just to hear from others at this time really helps out a lot, you have no idea! I know that God is with us at this moment and time, all we need is a little bit of trust in his timing, and faith on our part, and everything is gonna be alright. Love y'all!
