Bas Vegas

Well everyone knows about the craziness of this week, and it doesn't help considering the fact that we had transfers this week as well so I don't really know any people or things in the area, but that's what it's all about!

Tuesday (March 10): Transfer day! In the morning I had to make sure everything was all packed up and we headed into Hyde Park for transfers. I met up with my new companion Elder May. Then we were able to have our transfer devotional and get some lunch, then we packed all my luggage in the car and drove the 2 hours to our area, Basildon. We had to grab some groceries and then we headed out to find a friend and we achieved that goal. Then we made it back home and I got all situated.

Wednesday: This morning we had a call with the leaders in the zone to talk about the new transfer and some goals and things that we want to focus on. Then we headed out to do some street contacting. Then we had some lunch and did a companionship study. Afterwards we did a little more finding, stopped by some returning members, and then we had a dinner appointment tonight, which was really good to get to meet some of the members.

Thursday: We had a district meeting with the Romford district in our zone. After district meeting we had a mission call where we found out that all the senior couples in the mission need to go home, and along with the young missionaries who have various health problems. So that made things pretty crazy throughout the mission. Also we aren't really allowed to gather together as other missionaries so now we need to have all our meetings via video call. We headed to the store to grab some lunch and a few things we needed for the flat. Then we did a bit of finding, stopped by returning members, and some tracting. We found a miracle friend from that so let's hope we can teach him! Then we headed back home, it really was a good day.

Friday: This morning we woke up to the news that church was cancelled throughout the world. That definitely will change a bit of the things that we do in terms of missionary work, but we will figure it out and everything is going to be alright. Then we did a district meeting with our district over video call, and grabbed some chicken for lunch. The best part of the week was the fact that we found some Chick fil a sauce in the flat because apparently there is a store you can buy chick fil a sauce from here. So we used some Chick fil a sauce for the chicken and oh boy I was in heaven!

Also we saw a homeless guy holding a pigeon today so really it was just a whole lot of crazy going on. Tonight we finished off with a dinner appointment with a couple that we are actually teaching and she made Steak for us. Oh boy it was good!

Saturday: Today was a bit of a grind to be honest. We had a baptismal interview in the morning for someone that the Southend Elders are teaching. I did the Interview and it was great! Then we had a quick lunch appointment with correlation. Then we spent the next 5 hours of the day finding and stopping by returning members, and tracting. We didn't find a single person during the whole process, but it always feels good to put in some hard work!

Sunday: Super weird to not have church today, but we did our weekly planning during that time, then we had a lunch appointment where we had permission from the bishop to have the sacrament in the home of the couple who invited us over. The food was great and it was cool to have the sacrament together just the 4 of us. Then we had a correlation with the STL's in the zone, and spent the rest of our evening trying to visit returning members and offer to help them with anything that they might need.

It was a crazy week to say the least. But I hope everyone is safe and happy, and not too low on toilet paper 😉 haha. Love you all!
