An Awesome Bus Ride
Last week in the transfer! We got transfer calls on Sunday so make sure to read through to there to find out what's happening with me. The week was pretty cool:
Tuesday (March 3): Today we had our district meeting to start off the week. After district meeting we ate lunch and then pretty much spent the rest of the day doing finding and stopping by returning members. Then we just came home for dinner, it was an empty day full of a lot of work.
Wednesday: Today we had MLC, so we left earlier in the morning to get to Hyde Park on time for our meeting. Almost everything that we talked about was focused on the Restoration and First Vision in preparation for general conference. President also kind of called out everyone and said that we need to start doing much better. It was a good boost of motivation for me. When the meeting finished we travelled back to visit a family and then headed home.
Thursday: We had exchanges with Stratford today. So I spent the day working with Elder Javier from the Philippines in our area of Lea Valley. I had a ton of fun and we saw some cool miracles. We taught 2 lessons to our friends on date for baptism, both went really well. Also, while we were traveling to our last lesson of the day we got on the bus and I started talking to the person next to me. We had a good conversation and she was asking a ton of questions that I was able to explain a bit, and then she got off the bus. Well there was a guy sitting a few rows in front who turned around and asked me if I was Christian. I said yeah and then he told me he was recently converted to Christianity and wants to increase his faith more. It was an awesome bus ride and truly a miracle, we scheduled a time to meet him and we will visit next week. And tonight we all slept in Stratford so I had one last night there. It was a good time.
Friday: We woke up and of course hit the gym in Stratford this morning, it was definitely great. Then after getting ready and everything we headed back to our area where we did weekly planning, followed by lunch and a whole lot of finding. The sun was out all day and the weather was so nice so we just spent quite a bit of time finding. Then we had to do a little bit of preparation for a DLC meeting tomorrow, and we had our usual games night activity at the chapel. It was pretty fun like usual. Then we headed home.
Saturday: It was a pretty busy and fun day. In the morning we had our DLC meeting and then we had lunch altogether. After lunch we went to teach a lesson to one of our friends who we have on date for baptism. It was a solid lesson. Then we went to stop by a member who wanted to cook some food for us, so we came to pick it up. And then afterwards we headed back to the chapel to do our studies and to go to a dinner appointment that we had. It was such a great time, had good food, played games, and listened to a bit of music. Then sadly it was time to head home.
Sunday: Well today was transfer calls and I found out that I'll be moving to a new area. So after 10 months in London now it's time to move out somewhere new. I'm still going to be a zone leader and my new area is called Basildon (known in the mission as Bas Vegas) and my new companion's name is Elder May. I don't know him too well but I'm excited for some change. Anyways church today was cool as well, a family that we are teaching came along and it was so awesome.
I'll be sad to have to leave all these great people in Lea Valley but that's just how life goes. After church we had our usual lunch at the Brazilian members home for my last time :( It was great and sad to know it's time to leave. We stayed there for a while then we just tried to contact Returning Members, and that was it!
Now it's time for something new! And this transfer is only going to be a 5 week transfer so it will be super short. So let's see what the Lord has in store. Love y'all, take care!
