One Peaceful NIght in the Flat

Another week has come and gone. Lots of things going on again this week. But now we are already half way through the transfer, so only 3 more weeks left until I have to move. I don't remember a whole lot about everything but here's what I do remember:

Tuesday (Feb 11): We had zone conference today, and about half of the things that were talked about and trained on at zone conference, were things that happened at MLC last week so it was a bit boring, but still pretty cool. They made a super good pasta for lunch that was like Alfredo, so that was awesome. After zone conference we had a lesson with our recent convert about free agency and how we can follow the spirit to make correct choices, it was a pretty cool lesson, then we just headed home for the night.

Wednesday: It was a full day of finding, teaching a lesson, and organizing things for the zone. And in the evening we had the usual gospel principles class with whoever wanted to come. Not too much details about today because it was pretty basic.

Thursday: Today was pretty cool, in the morning we did weekly planning and then had some lunch. Afterward we headed out to do some finding for about 2 hours. During lunch today though my companion spilled cherry Pepsi all over my left arm and leg haha. (Miraculously our stain removal spray took it out yesterday in the wash). Then we spent bit of time ministering to all the companionships in the zone and doing things we needed to, then we headed out to visit returning members. We felt like we should go visit this one home of a family who is pretty active, so we went there and just asked if we could share a brief message with them and the spirit was so strong I nearly cried. It's hard to find solid families in the church around here so when you find one and can go into their homes it's like the best thing ever. Tonight we cooked burritos for dinner and then because the other Elder's were on exchanges we had the flat to ourselves for the evening, and let me tell you I was never happier. It was calm and peaceful and I was able to read the Book of Mormon for an hour and a half, I can't think of a better way to end the day.

Friday: Now it was our turn for exchange. We headed into Hyde Park this morning for an exchange with the AP's. I spent the day with Elder Poulsen from Utah, along with another zone leader. It was a great time honestly. We did a lot of finding today, a member bought us 5 Guys for lunch, and we got to play basketball in the evening, so I was just living the life and everything was great. Tonight we also taught a video call lesson to this Chinese guy who was incredible, he is so prepared to receive the gospel no doubt, so it was great to take part in a lesson with someone like that. Then tonight we all stayed up pretty late talking so you better believe I was exhausted the next day...

Saturday: We woke up bright and early at 5:30 to play some basketball this morning, it was so much fun but boy was I dead all throughout the day. We also had a stake meeting in the morning about a plan that has been organized to reach out to every returning member in the stake. Then we headed back to our area, ate lunch, did some finding, and did some service for a member who needed help fixing up their fence. We then headed to the chapel to clean it up and get it organized for church tomorrow, and then we headed back home.

Sunday: It was another storm today just like last week, so much wind and rain! But church was pretty good, and we also had a munch and mingle with the ward after the church. It wasn't anything too crazy but it was definitely a fun time . Then we had our usually early dinner appointment with the Brazilian member, also great. After her house we headed out to do some finding for the rest of the night. It was super cold but we had a great time nevertheless.

So yep, that's my week according to the things I can remember. I really focused a lot this week on trying to find the little blessings each day and I know that the Lord truly does want to bless us. Thanks for all your love and support! Cheerio!
