We Pushed a Van

Wow it was another crazy and interesting week. Again it was filled with all sorts of things which made for a fun and interesting time, Including one of the craziest Sundays ever:

Tuesday (Jan 14): Started off with district council and then we went out to go do some finding. We spent a lot of time on the streets and then I had a feeling that we should go walk and stop by a returning member that lived nearby, well, while we were on our way there was a pretty large van that had run out of gas and there was just one guy pushing it, we were able to go help and we pushed this thing like 300 yards it was so far I swear! It was crazy though and honestly so much fun to help out. We were exhausted afterward so we bought a Powerade and just sat down for a few minutes haha. Then we got back to the chapel and taught a lesson and everything was pretty good. That was our day!
Powerade right in front of the Tottenham stadium where we pushed a massive van forever
Wednesday: So today we had a solid 5 lessons lined up but only one of them actually ended up happening, which was a really good lesson. We taught with a member who was from the same country as our friend and it was really cool. Then we had our gospel principles study class tonight and headed home to be back on time.

Thursday: Today we went to one of the district meetings in the zone and then picked up some lunch to eat on the tube ride back, we taught a guy a little bit more about the Book of Mormon, then we spent a few hours finding and we had a dinner appointment as well, with Mac and Cheese! So that was really delicious and I was happy to have that for the first time in a long time.

Friday: Today we had exchanges and I spent the day in London North with Elder Ndala from South Africa. We had a whole lot of fun and it was a great day. We did a blitz of finding as a district that day as well, and then we went around stopping by returning members, while seeing a couple of cool things in the area along the way. Also we both got a pair of fake glasses cuz they were cheap haha. And tonight we had a dinner appointment with a lady from Zimbabwe. We ate something called Satza, which is similar to fufu. We ate with our hands and it was pretty fun. Then we headed back together and all 4 of us spent the night together and it was a great time.
Exchanges

Saturday: In the morning we had to do our weekly planning and set up some things for our interviews next week. And then we went out finding for an hour or so before heading to a lunch appointment that we had. The appointment took up quite a bit of time but it was fun, and we ate some good Lasagne. When we finished with that we headed back to the chapel to call and try to confirm some of the people for church who told us that they might come, and to reconfirm those who said they would. Then we did more finding and headed back home.

Sunday: Wow it was a crazy crazy Sunday. Church was great, we ended up helping with the sacrament, and while my companion was passing the sacrament the bishop asked him if he could speak haha. He definitely was not prepared for that but he did pretty good. And we had an extremely interesting Sunday School as well. Once we were about to finish and say the closing prayer, a member got up and said that he had an announcement he wanted to make, then he talked about his story and how he moved here from Germany a few years ago and how there was one particular member who helped him a lot, and then he pulled out a ring and literally got down on one knee and proposed to her in church 😂 Oh my goodness is was so awesome and so crazy. I was definitely not expecting that one. So then to top it off after church we had a 2 hour long ward council meeting that I didn't feel like we talked about much that was super important so yeah, it was a great Sunday. But of course we went to the Brazilian members home for lunch and wow it was a great time. I just love that food so much. And then at night we did a little bit of finding until it was time to head back and do all the Sunday night calls.

So yeah, overall it was a great week, now we are moving into the last week of the transfer and the last full week of January as well, so next time you hear from me it will be about transfer news and all that good stuff. I hope everyone is doing fantastic, I love and appreciate each and everyone one of y'all, have an amazing week!
