Stockton In England

Last week of the transfer has come and gone. We received our calls and both my companion and I are staying together. This is going to be my 7th transfer in this zone which means it will be a good 10 months since I served in a different zone. The crazy thing though is that they are adding another set of Elders into our area, which means we are sharing the flat now. Hopefully that means we will have a super fun time!   Tuesday (Jan 21): Started the day off with our district meeting, and after that had lunch, then went to do some finding. Afterward we traveled back to the chapel so we could have our video call interviews with President Checketts. Then we went to do returning member stop bys and actually we perfectly ran into a returning member on the street right as we were about to go home. She said she had prayed in the morning to ask God if she should start coming back to church and then we met her on the street. It was really great! Wow it was another crazy and interesting week. Again it was filled with all sorts of things which made for a fun and interesting time, Including one of the craziest Sundays ever:   Tuesday (Jan 14): Started off with district council and then we went out to go do some finding. We spent a lot of time on the streets and then I had a feeling that we should go walk and stop by a returning member that lived nearby, well, while we were on our way there was a pretty large van that had run out of gas and there was just one guy pushing it, we were able to go help and we pushed this thing like 300 yards it was so far I swear! It was crazy though and honestly so much fun to help out. We were exhausted afterward so we bought a Powerade and just sat down for a few minutes haha. I really felt like this week was filled with a little bit of everything. Anything that could have happened in a week did happen, good and bad. Friday especially was a crazy day. It made for a really strange week: Tuesday (Jan 7): Started off the week by going on exchanges. So I spent the day working here in Lea Valley with Elder Siu from Hong Kong. We had a great time, had a lunch appointment, did a little finding, taught a lesson, spoke to a super drunk guy in a barber shop, and then had dinner. I think it was a good day and I hope my temporary companion did as well.   Exchanges Wednesday: We had our zone conference today, a lot of it was about things that we had already spoken about at MLC but it was still pretty good. Our mission is now focused on not only baptizing new converts, but also working with recent converts and returning members of the church to take them to the temple. It was basically the last week of the holiday season so we had to soak up the fun a bit. New Years Eve was an absolute party and the rest of the week was super fun as well.   Tuesday (Dec 31): Such a fun day, we had district council in the morning, and then we went on exchange with the Stratford Elders. So I spent the day in Stratford working with a missionary from my MTC group from Albania, we had a fun time and we were able to get a lot of things done, including myself having a crazy bash with this guy for like a solid 30 minutes, haha it was great. After the day was done we all slept in Stratford flat because tonight was New Years Eve so we figured it would be fun to watch all the fireworks in London from above in the air. Let me just say it was absolutely incredible!! We ended up staying up until 1am watching because it was just so cool. Definitely one of the best nights I have ever had.
