We Got Fruit This Week
It was the first week of a new transfer, and it was a pretty good one. Not too much to complain about to be honest.
Tuesday (Nov 5): Transfer day! Today we had to head to Hyde Park to drop off Elder Hatch and then we also had the transfer devotional and lunch. Then Elder Hathaway and I came back to Lea Valley and got right to work. Went finding and then had comp study. Then I had to call the new Zone Leader in our zone to update him on info about the zone and our goals and plans so that took a bit of time, and we had dinner and called it a night.
Wednesday: We had district meeting in the morning and then me and Elder Hathaway felt like we should go finding in a new place that we have never been before, and we just got wrecked so hard haha. It was actually funny how bad that time was going. Literally no one would talk to us until finally someone did and they just bashed with us the whole time. But hey at least we tried! We had comp study, did a bit more finding, and then visited a recent convert who is so cool. He always cooks us food when we visit and he is very solid. We had tasty noodles and then chocolate cake for dessert. We finished off the day going to our ward gospel principles study class that happens every Wednesday night and it's always pretty good.
Thursday: Went to the other District meeting in the zone this morning. It was a great district meeting and it was in Hyde Park so I was able to grab some needed supplies for the flat as well. Then we came back to our area and went on the streets. I talked to this drunk guy for about 30 minutes and at the end of the convo gave him a Book of Mormon and he told me I was the best person he's ever met, and gave me a nice big hug so I hope he felt some charity coming from me haha. I doubt he'll even remember the convo when he's sober but at least he has a Book of Mormon. The people in London are such a party I'm loving my time here haha. Then tonight we visited a really nice family in the ward the has 2 kids that aren't baptized yet and we had a great lesson with them. I was just on top of the world today things were so amazing!
Friday: There was MLC today. So I met up with my zone leader companion, and we headed into Hyde Park for the whole day while our companions spent the day together. We spent a lot of time counseling about some things in the mission and plans moving forward. It was all pretty good. Not much to talk about for today.
Saturday: Well it was a bit of an interesting day. First we had a DLC to talk to the district leaders about all the things we talked about at MLC. Then when that was over I had to work on the transfer calendar for our zone this month with the other zone leader and it took a little bit of time. Once that was over me and Elder Hathaway did finding, study, and then more finding. Along with calling people and inviting them to church the next day. We definitely got rained on the whole time we were outside but it was still a great time!
Sunday: Oh boy, we show up to church today and the bishop asked me if I would speak because one of the speakers wouldn't be able to make it. I ended up having to fill about 20 mins because it was just me and the youth speaker. Well I decided to speak about something I have studied a lot recently and it was about our potential, and I compared it to seeds from fruit. (Thanks for the idea dad!) Anyways I mentioned during my talk about how I like fruit and then like 3 members came and brought me a bag of fruit after church was over it was crazy haha! This ward is super awesome. Then after church we went to Sister Laudi's house. She's the Brazilian member who feeds the missionaries every Sunday and she is just amazing! Definitely takes care of us over here! Then we just did our studies and that was the day.
So the thing that I learned this week is that if you want members to give you something as a missionary just talk about it in church, unless it's to help with missionary work, then I'm not really sure what to do for that one. 😂 But things are great and I love this place with all my heart! Our life is so good. Just take a moment to recognize the things that we are blessed with. God is great! Talk to you next week.
