My New Comp Speaks Mandarin Chinese

Oh wowzers was this a crazy week. Also it was extremely hot again which I wasn't expecting. It is only the 2nd week of the transfer but we had a bit of change 😬 Guess you'll have to read and find out just how much:

Tuesday (Aug 20): Zone conference today! The main focus was about the Book of Mormon and just how powerful it truly is. I learned much as usual and it was a great zone conference. But wow the craziest thing happened tonight. We were getting ready for bed and almost about to go to sleep and then we get a call from President Checketts and turns out there had to be an emergency transfer because one of the missionaries in a different area wanted to go home. So Elder Bakman had to pack up his stuff and be ready to move by tomorrow, meanwhile, I would be training a new Elder, again. So yeah didn't really expect that, and it was pretty sad, but I trust my mission President and I trust the Lord so everything will work out for the best.
Zone Conference Day 1

Wednesday: Elder Bakman got his stuff all packed up and we had to travel to Hyde Park to make the transfer happen during the zone conference 2nd day. (Yeah mom, that's why I was in the pictures twice wearing two different ties).

Zone Conference Day 2

The new missionary I will be training is named Elder Ramsey and he is from Wyoming. He was assigned to speak Mandarin Chinese so he just flew in from the Provo MTC after 9 weeks there. After we traveled back and dropped everything off we had to travel to the other area in our district so I could do a baptismal interview for someone who is going to be baptized on the 31st. That was our day.
My New Companion, Elder Ramsey

Thursday: Today was a very busy day, we had 3 different appointments, had to buy Elder Ramsey a phone and buy him some food for the week. Not much more to say aside from the fact we had 3 lessons with returning members and recent converts.

Friday: We had another lesson with returning members in the morning, and then we came home to eat lunch and study. After that we were able to go out and do some finding and we actually taught some dude from Poland and he even bought us shakes from Burger King, he was a nice guy!

After that we had companionship study and then were able to see our recent convert Frank and to teach him a little more about the Priesthood which he will be preparing to receive next weekend 👍 tonight we cooked enchiladas for dinner and they were yummy.

Saturday: So we spent our first half of the day in the other area of our district called Lea Valley. We had district meeting, then I had a district leader council meeting, and then I also had to do 2 baptismal interviews. So I spent a lot of time today just sitting down and not really doing a whole lot. It was good but I was super tired! After that Elder Ramsey and I were finally able to travel home and we were so pumped to go out and go do some finding that we were able to find 4 people in just a little over an hour. We were so hyped! After that we came back to do our studies and cooked up some rice for dinner.

Sunday: Today was a great Sabbath day. Church was cool. Elder Ramsey was really excited to meet some members so he actually knew there were people who liked missionaries in England haha. After that we came home and did lunch, weekly planning, and his language study. Before heading out to do more finding again and boy let me tell you it was hot! Over 90 degrees and we were dripping in sweat but I was just in such a good mood today! I don't know what it was but man I felt good! We found a guy from Hungary and were able teach a lesson with him and give him a Book of Mormon to read. Honestly we finished the day off great and it was a good way to cap off the crazy but amazing week!

So yeah I didn't really expect to be training again but change happens and the unexpected occurs so we just gotta embrace what life sends our way and make the most of it! God loves you, the church is true, and Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world! Have an amazing week y'all. That's it from me now, but until next time... cheeeerio!
