Elder Bakman, My Son

So this week was kinda crazy. My companion had to go home for Medical reasons and so I received a new missionary to train in the middle of the transfer. It was such a long and exhausting week but also fun as well.

Tuesday (June 11): What a crazy day! We woke up and then went to Hyde Park to pick up the new missionary who I will be training. It was good and we kind of got to chill for a little bit while President interviewed all the new missionaries.

My greenie is Elder Bakman from Romania/Spain. He was born in Romania but his family has lived in Spain ever since he was 6. So he knows Romanian, Spanish, and is now learning English! He seems really great and hopefully it will be a great rest of the transfer.

Elder Bakman likes to build towers

Yeah...like I said!
Wednesday: This morning we had to go and get the travel card set up for Elder Bakman and then we went to district meeting. And the sisters made a red velvet cake for our district meeting. It was so good!

Our district won a competition that we had as a zone

Then we came back and did a language study together and then went and saw 2 less active members that Elder Wood wanted to see before he went home. Tonight Elder Bakman shared his testimony with us and it was really great. I can tell he will make a great missionary, I just need to do whatever I can to help him out!

Thursday: Today is the day that Elder Wood went home. This morning we saw one member that he wanted to say goodbye to, and then we had to travel to the mission office, where we dropped him off and returned to our area. Tonight we were finding people on the street and Elder Bakman spoke to this Romanian guy and afterwards I asked him what they talked about and he started translating to me in super fast Spanish and I was just like... What? 😂 wow it was really funny haha.

Friday: This day was good. After our morning we did a comp study and then headed out to teach returning members from Russia. And bishop asked us if we could give a blessing to a member as well so we had to go and do that afterward. We came home to eat lunch and do language study, and then we traveled to go have a lesson but it didn't happen :/ so we went to a less active family from Colombia and they are really wonderful. We will see them again this upcoming week and that will be great!

Saturday: So today was a bit slow at the beginning, but it got a little bit better towards the end. We went finding in the morning and like nobody was willing to talk with us, it was really draining and I did not ever fully regain my energy so not the best way to start out the day. After that we came back to the flat and had lunch and did all of our studies. After which we had a lesson with our recent convert and we talked with him about preparing to go the temple and do baptisms, hopefully we can go with him either next week or the one after! Then we stopped by a members house because she prepared some food for us and we took it home to eat for dinner. It was a better day after the rough morning.

Sunday: A pretty busy Sunday but a good one. It was Father's day as well so it was nice I got to call and talk to my dad this afternoon. But we had a random guy come to church today on his own and that was super awesome. Then after all was said and done we talked to a crazy drunk guy on our train home to get some lunch. Then I called my dad and we came back to do weekly planning, and comp/language study. As well as having dinner. It made for a not so bad Sunday.

I hope you all had a great week as well. If you ever feel like sending me a quick email don't be afraid to do it! I would like to know how things are going and answer any questions you might have! Love you all!
