Birthday Package

This week flew by really quickly. Thanks to everyone who wrote me a little message for my birthday as well it was awesome and I really appreciated it! It's nice to know I'm longer the young 18 year old missionary, but I'm a 19 year old missionary now. Not that it's much of a difference lol, especially because I still feel 17. Anyways here is my week in a nutshell:

Tuesday (June 18): So today was really weird. Last night we got a call from the TTAP's(teaching and traveling assistants to President) yeah it's super weird I know. Anyways they called us and said they were going to be coming to Stratford and go  on exchange with us for the day. Because that is their whole purpose. So in the morning me and Elder Bakman did our studies and then around lunch time we met with the TTAP's. I spent the day with Elder Lewis who went to Lone Peak High School and we had a pretty crazy day. It was good though. Tonight I also performed my first baptismal interview because some of the missionaries in my district are having a baptism this weekend. We barely made it home by 9pm and just ordered pizza for dinner. What a crazy way to start the week.

Wednesday: This morning we had district council and then we got lunch. After that we came back to Stratford and taught a recent convert and he took us out to get some cheap chicken so we were pretty full.
Awesome recent convert named Angjelo who bought us chicken.

After that we went to a members house because she cooked us food to take home and so we got plenty of food today haha it was great. We then travelled home and did all our studies and ate some dinner. It was a quick day.
The member who cooks us food sometimes has Gucci sunglasses so she let me put them on ๐Ÿ˜‚ they are a couple hundred pounds and I don't know why she spent that much but oh well. I think they match my Christmas tie nicely as well haha.
Thursday: Wow we had interviews today and it was so fantastic! I always love being with President Checketts. We were supposed to bring our own lunches so I packed a nice peanut butter jelly sandwich with grapes and chips. It was a major throwback to all my school lunches for many years.
Matching ties and suit for interviews.
In my interview with President I found out that the Yankees and Redsocks will be playing in a stadium that is in my area on the 27th of June. Maybe I'll see a whole lot of people pretending like they are fans of baseball on that day ๐Ÿ˜‚ and I was also able to pick up a birthday package from home. The timing was perfect since my birthday was the next day! And then tonight we even had a dinner appointment with a less active family from Colombia. What a great day.

Friday: To be honest having a birthday in the mission field was really weird. It was like I totally forgot it was my birthday๐Ÿ˜‚ but I would just really like to say thanks to my family, extended family, and friends for still helping me feel like it was a good birthday.
My birthday package from home!
Most especially I wouldn't feel right if I didn't say a huge thanks to Amelia as well! When you read this, thanks Amelia I love you! Back to my day haha, we had 2 fantastic lessons today as well that helped the day seem great. And then I celebrated by getting Subway for dinner because that is was sounded good.

Saturday: Today it actually felt like summer for once. The sun wasn't behind a sky of grey and it was pretty warm. We had all our studies in the morning because we had a pretty busy day. The lessons went great and then tonight we started a mission wide fast because lots of missionaries in our mission are struggling with physical health problems that may have to send them home so we will be fasting altogether for that aspect.

Sunday: Fasting on a non fast Sunday. Nothing better than that am I right? Haha just kidding it was not too bad. Church went well today 2 of our friends we are teaching ended up coming. And one of the talks today by a member of the high council was really powerful and I think it really touched the hearts of our friends as well. Something else pretty cool that happened was on Friday while traveling we meet some members from California who were here on vacation and we got to see them at church today so it was pretty fun. And one of our friends who we are teaching even brought me a little birthday gift of chocolate because she saw on Facebook that it was my birthday. She is pretty cool and hopefully she will keep progressing! Other than that nothing super exciting happened today. Mostly studies and planning out the next week.

The gospel is so great and I love seeing how it touches lives and invites people to make a change in order to receive more happiness! I hope everyone had a wonderful week as well and keep pressing forward, I know we will be blessed for the good things that we do. Love y'all, until next week!
