My First Week in a London Area

Wow my first week in a London area was quite crazy. It was very busy and I saw quite a few crazy things but it was loads of fun. Stratford is a great place and I am loving it already!

Tuesday (May 21): Transfer day! Nice thing is we drove my bags into London but it definitely did take a lot of time and patience as driving usually does here in London. We had a short devotional and had Subway for lunch and then me and my new companion traveled to Stratford our area. Wow this place is the absolute bomb! It only took about 30 minutes to get from the mission office to our flat. We then went out to get some food that we will need for the week and I also spent a bit of time getting unpacked. We are so ready to hit the ground running tomorrow.

Wednesday: Oh boy such a fun day. We had our first district meeting and it was my first time to be the one leading that. I think I did ok. We then went out to get lunch together as a district. It was really great. And something wild that happened is traveling back I saw a guy with a jazz skateboard, and then even later in the day there was a different guy wearing a University of Utah hoodie, so crazy! After that we did comp study and went finding, then we stopped by some less actives as well. And one gave us food to bring back and cook and guess what? There was shrimp and I ate it and it actually wasn't as horrible as I thought. Still not my first choice though.

Thursday: Another great day. So this morning Elder Wood had a doctor's appointment in London but thankfully it was only about 20 minutes to get there instead of 2 hours like the last doctor's appointment took. Afterwards we came back and ate some lunch then went to the chapel so that we could use the computer and print out our goals and plans for the whole transfer. I already know it's going to be an amazing transfer. Then did some finding and studies and closed out our day.

Friday: Today was kind of a weird day full of traveling around for all sorts of things. So in the morning we went and taught these 2 less active members from Russia and they really like the missionaries so that was fun. Then we had to travel to a place called Lea Valley, which is close to Stratford, because I had a district leader council meeting. Afterwards we went and did some finding and then went to a members house because she cooked us food and told us to come pick it up and take it home to eat so that was wonderful. The most interesting thing that happened today was at night. So I was just looking out the window at the beautiful city lights when all of the sudden I saw a car accident. It was crazy! So I had a bird's eye view of seeing an accident from above. What a wild way to end the night!

Saturday: It was a really long day to be honest. Not bad, just long. We started out with 2 hours of street contacting and not much luck. Then we went to see and teach a recent convert and he took us out to get cheap chicken for lunch so that was pretty awesome. He is a great guy. We then traveled to the chapel and had a comp study and did some contacting. We also stopped by less active members and did some more finding. Finally at 8 we headed home to have dinner and close out the day. It definitely seemed like a long time but think it was still pretty good.

Sunday: Wow today was pretty fun. I'm just gonna say it I love black people. Our whole ward is African and they are so funny 😂 plus I love listening to their accents when they talk it's so entertaining. So our day at church was really good to be honest. We also gave a blessing afterwards to somebody who needed one, and then we headed back home and got a bit of a late lunch. Then we went out to go finding and there was this crazy large group of Romanians all waving flags and standing out of the town hall.
The massive crowd of Romanians
We asked around to a few people and found out it was like their voting day or something. There was a huge crowd! Then tonight we had a good weekly planning, ate dinner, and went to sleep.

I know that next week is going to be fantastic! Me and Elder Wood are just gonna send it and are gonna see some great miracles I have a good feeling. Plus zone conference is on Thursday too so it should be really good. If you have any questions or just want to shoot me a little email I would really appreciate it! Love you guys have a great week.

One of the many perks of the Stratford Flat is that we have a gym in our building that we are allowed to use. So we hit it up every morning 💪😏
