I'm Headed to a New Area

Last week of the transfer! And some crazy things went on. Plus transfer news on Sunday so it was exciting. What a gonna happen to me??? Guess you'll find out.

Tuesday (May 15): Well today was pretty wild. Elder Cavalcante had a doctor's appointment in London. Not only that but it was in central London. Boy what an experience that was driving in London. I will never ever complain about traffic again in my life.
Driving through London. It was like being a taxi driver in New York!
That whole ordeal took a large chunk of our day with lots of driving time. By the time we got back into our area we headed to a DA and it was lots of fun. This family is awesome and we always enjoy being with them.

Wednesday: Thankfully today was much more chill than having to drive in London. There was district meeting in the morning, and it had potential to be our last one because most likely at least one of us will move. We ended up teaching a lesson today and it was alright. It was basically one of those lessons where they bash with you the whole time. And then we had a DA and ate pasta carbonara. It was great!

Thursday: This morning we had to meet the senior couple at our chapel to help them set up the audio and video for stake conference. It took longer than it should have but we eventually got it figured out. Bonus too they brought us cookies! Then we had our studies and went out finding. Ended up finding 2 people in 2 hours so it was not too bad honestly. Then this evening we had correlation with the ward mission leader and he cooked us dinner as well so it was fantastic

Friday: Well today was decent. Not incredible but also not terrible. Pretty basic missionary day, the highlight definitely came at the end of the day though. Turns out they just opened a Taco Bell a few miles away from Maidstone and we didn't have any dinner appointments tonight and Elder Cavalcante has never had it before so we made a special trip and it was awesome! We both really enjoyed it. What a fun dinner.
Taco Bell never tasted so good

I think my companion enjoyed it as well

Saturday: Today was quite an awesome day. This morning there was a baptism for one of the primary kids in the ward and we got invited to that. And even more bonus one of the treats afterwards was cinnamon rolls and they tasted really close to my mom's and it was delicious. Then after that we had a lunch appointment so I was stuffed 😂 but it was all delicious food. Then tonight we had our Saturday night part of stake conference and I got to see my good friends from Hastings as well. As well as President Checketts and Elder De Feo from the quorum of the 70. It was a really great spiritual meeting and I really enjoyed it.

Sunday: Wow wow transfer calls today and man I was feeling the nerves. Especially considering the fact we didn't get a call until 8:30 So we were waiting for 2 hours. And when we finally got the call it was President Checketts instead of one of the assistants. Usually the assistants are the ones who call if you both stay or if someone moves but nothing else happens. President only calls when one of you is receiving some type of assignment. So yeah... Turns out I will be leaving and Elder Cavalcante will be staying. And I am going to be a district leader in my new area while follow up training a newer missionary. Sheesh! His name is Elder Wood and he is from Layton, Utah. Wasn't expecting that. My new area that I'm going to is Stratford which is in London. So I'm finally going to be serving in London now which I am super duper excited about. Plus the flat there everyone thinks it's one of the best in the mission as well so that's great too! I'm excited for this new challenge. It's gonna be wild!
Here's roughly where my new area is. The blue dot is where we currently were staying, and that Red Pin is where my new flat is. Right in the heart of London!!
It was a fun and eventful week for me here in the beautiful green country of England! I hope all is well for each of you. Love y'all
