A Week in Croydon

This week was a blast and transfer calls came as well. It's gonna be a great email!

Tuesday (Feb 26): Ok today was actually so sad, I had to say goodbye to Hastings. I was born in the mission here and it's been so wonderful. But off to a new adventure! We spent most of today packing and then we had breaks in between packing for lunch with Brother Hobbs and then we also went somewhere for dinner with an older lady in the ward and got steak!
My last meal in Hastings was a good one
I'm sure gonna miss this ward I've grown to love them so much. It's off to Croydon for the week which is basically London and then we'll see what happens on transfer calls Sunday.

Wednesday: It was a nuts day! We woke up super early to go up on the hill to watch the sunrise over the ocean in Hastings and that was just gorgeous. It took forever to get from the flat to the train station because each of us had to carry all our stuff and couldn't help each other. I was sweating so much by the time we finally made it! We traveled up to Orpington where we made another district for their district meeting. Then we went out to Croydon and I seriously am blown away by this place, it's huge!
Tasty fries we had on Wednesday
We also had a dinner appointment and not only did they feed us but then they proceeded to give us 40 pounds to spend on food the rest of the week. So lit!

Thursday: Wow this day was so amazing! It started out super rainy while we did finding and didn't really have much success. We came back and ate lunch then we went out to go finding again with slightly better weather and we found 5 new friends in less than hour, I love this place! I never thought I could have so much fun doing missionary work as I did today. I seriously just couldn't stop smiling.

We then stopped by some less active members and met a super cool guy and we closed out the day by getting Kebabs for dinner. Which is like a middle eastern type of food. Honestly, I had the best day ever today even in the rain.

Friday: Today was another super awesome day. We did finding this morning and found 2 new friends and then we had 2 lessons that went pretty well and we also had a dinner appointment with a really great family. I also enjoyed today because I got to see a little bit more of the area outside of the main part of town and it's so sweet. Missionaries get feed a lot by members here basically 5 times a week. I'm hoping I get to stay in this area it is so much fun here.

Saturday: Oh boy another fantastic day here in the blessed land of Croydon. We did a district blitz where everyone in the district came to our area and we all went finding on the street together. We ended up finding 15 new friends in only an hour and a half together. So that was pretty legendary and the best part is we went and got Taco Bell for lunch all together afterward. Then we went to the chapel in order to watch some of the new safety videos that the church put out for missionaries and they are so funny. After that we stopped by a few less actives and one of them wanted a blessing so that was really good that we could be there. And for dinner tonight I was able to have Nandos for the first time and it was super super tasty! What another fantastic day!

Sunday: This Sunday felt super weird because of not being in the Hastings Ward. We did get transfer calls this morning though and sad to say I don't get to stay in Croydon. But I am still going to be in the same zone. Me and my new companion from Portugal named Elder Calvacante will be opening up a new area called Maidstone where there haven't been missionaries for a long time. It's still in the same stake though and in fact Maidstone is the stake centre. I honestly have no clue what to expect and I'm a bit nervous about how things will go but I'm excited to have the opportunity to get missionary work going in this part of England.

That's all from me this week I honestly just had such a blast and I'm looking forward to this upcoming transfer. Love you all so much and hope you have a splendid week!

The district. Fun fact: the sister with the dark hair came to my farewell talk and I worked with her grandpa in the temple she's great!
