Service!
This week was really quite difficult and a little strange but that's alright. Here's the scoop:
Tuesday (Feb 19): Today was really good. It was a sister in our districts birthday and it just so happened to be our district meeting as well. So we had a small celebration me and Elder Hori brought cake and he cooked stew for lunch for everyone. It was pretty fun!
Then we traveled home and we wanted to work with and stop by a few less active members so that's what we tried to do but no one was home. Then we came back and studied and we made some tasty fried rice for dinner!
Wednesday: Man today was a downright struggle. I was feeling all pumped and energized this morning and ready for a killer day but then all our plans just started to wither away... We did a lot of street contacting and tracting today but literally nothing came from it. Then tonight we were going to have a lesson AND a dinner appointment but they both got canceled 😅 we decided to buy some fried chicken from a local shop because we were not prepared to cook dinner. The food was good though so not too much to complain about.
Thursday: Service! Today I was able to help Brother Hobbs and we built a patio at their home.
Elder Hori is quite sick I'm pretty sure he's got the flu or just a really bad cold so he rested in their house while me and Bro Hobbs built the patio. I worked quite hard today but it was so satisfying to see the finished product. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we finished so I couldn't get a good picture but I have a good picture in the middle of the process to send.
Friday: Today was kinda weird, we had a lesson in the morning but then Elder Hori was feeling so sick he got Sister Checketts and we stayed in the flat the rest of the day while he rested and slept. I basically just cleaned the whole flat super nice because there wasn't much else to do.
Saturday: Today we had nothing on the agenda so it was full of finding. Crappy thing is nobody wants to learn about the gospel! It makes me so sad because I know how much it could bless their lives and bring them happiness but they are just too dang prideful to listen. Later tonight we were stopping by less active members and inviting them to church and when it was time to head home we were going to miss our bus and so we had to run for it but we still barely missed the bus, so we had to wait 30 minutes for the next one to come. And we were all sweaty from running and then it was freezing because of that! It was still fun though.
Sunday: Today was not super exciting, I woke up quite sick. That's the crappy thing about always being with a companion, if they get sick you know you're in for a treat just a few days later! Church was alright, none of our friends came though and the lady we were have been teaching this past week was gonna come but didn't and so we called her after church and turns out she made a decision that she is only gonna go to the Catholic church now so that was nice to hear. Nothing too exciting happened today I just basically had no energy and hopefully it doesn't get worse!
So yeah that was my fun week in England. It's been a stretch of a couple tough weeks in a row but that just means something great is in store!!
