Missing Thanksgiving

Image
Hello everyone I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and a good week. I'm not gonna lie this week was right up there with my first week in the field as far as struggles and difficulties. It didn't start off terrible but by the end of the week I was really having a rough time.  Monday (Nov 19): I had a great P day and at the end we went over to bishops house for dinner and family home evening. The dinner was so good but the best part by far was family home evening. We just played some fun games and stuff like that and it just felt so amazing to be able to spend time in a family setting because that it something that I really miss a lot. Bishop and his family are super cool and I just love spending time with them. Plus his son is one of only 2 young men in the whole ward so we like to be around him he's 15 and we play basketball with him and his friends every week.  Tuesday: Today was freezing. We taught Mohammed again and he is so great and willing to learn. We gav...

Tuesday (Nov 13): Today was pretty decent. We got 2 new friends today and the weather was amazing wow! Then tonight we went to ward counsel and then sang at choir practice. We are singing Christmas songs to practice for then so wow I can't believe how close Christmas is! It's also only a few more days until my favorite Holiday which is Thanksgiving. I told the family who we ate dinner with last week about how I want to get an England jersey really bad but how expensive they were, and they said they would order me one from ebay so they checked and they were only like 11 pounds, so I got a red and white one this week for a combined 22 pounds and I am stoked! Me with my two England jerseys that I acquired this week. Wednesday: I didn't have an extremely eventful day. We had district meeting and then we got home ate some lunch, and then got out to continuing looking for people to teach. Tonight as we were eating dinner and winding down for the night we watched the rest...

Me in front of a member's house with a tiny front door. The building looks sweet! This was a bit of a shorter week because we had P day on Tuesday last week and now it is Monday so it was only like a 6 day week. So we start from Wednesday. Wednesday (Nov 7): I felt more like a missionary today than ever. I woke up and it was so windy and rainy, literally the most wind I have ever seen or felt in my life. Then as we were doing some contacting we met a lady who just moved here yesterday from Romania. Her name is Lidia and she was really nice. We invited her to church and she said she might come Later we saw her carrying some bed posts and we offered to help her and so we carried them to her house which was a mile away. Then we asked if she needed to get anything else and she needed a mattress so we went with her and carried that mattress back a mile as well. Keep in mind the rain and wind. Man it was wild. But we got to know her a little bit and she is awesome. She told us sh...

The Adventures of an American in England

This week was so amazing and I had lots of great experiences and really learned a lot.! Tues (Oct 30): P-day hangover this morning. That's for sure. But I got over it by lunch time. It was funny today we had like 3 different people yell at us and tell us how stupid we are to believe our religion. We always get a good laugh out of those people. Holy cow it is freezing though! It is only October and I was wearing a coat which I bought and a beanie, as well as gloves most of the day. We did stop by a lot of members and less actives tonight, well pretty much all less actives but none of them would let us share a lesson. I feel like by the time I finally get to teach a lesson I will have had plenty of practice with studying it that's for sure.  Wednesday: Honestly I completely forgot it was Halloween until later on in the day when I got a package from home with some gummy Kraby Patty's. Man I love those!  So of course me and Elder Stoddard had to celebrate by doing...
